Pineapple beef

Another slow cooker recipe.  Can you tell love my Crockpot?  Sorry for the lack of photos, the food was gone by the time I remembered!

For this recipe I actually used ox tail.  It was just me and my 2 yr old eating this so I didn’t make a whole lot.  I bought the ox tail from Whole Foods.   I grew up eating ox tail.  My dad would make a Filipino dish called kare-kare.  I’m hoping to learn how to make that someday and post it here :).

2 pieces of Ox tail

1/2 can of pineapple (chunks or pieces are both fine)

Diced onion, about 1 tbsp

Ground pepper, a dash

Sea salt, a pinch

Some water enough to cover the meat halfway

Put them all the ingredients in the Crockpot and that’s it!  I should be done in about 7 hours.  I ran out of potatoes but I think this will taste good with them.

  3. We have a good recipe for Kare-kare here http://www.foodista.com/recipe/VL8YS8TK/kare-kare-filipino-recipe though you may have to substitute some of the ingredients. Your crockpot recipes sound wonderful, I dont know why I keep delaying in getting myself one 🙂

    • Hi, my dad makes the kare-kare from scratch, I know how to do it too, I just haven’t gotten to it yet. 🙂 I love it, can’t eat too much of it, too fattening.

      Thanks for visiting my site!
